Victor Fount, the Spanish Barcelona club's presidential candidate, defended the Dutch coach Ronald Cooman, under criticism after the Catalan team entered a bad period in the local and European results.
“We are in an unstable situation and long-term management absence,” Faunt told reporters in Spanish daily SES on Thursday. “We must support Coman and the players to keep the competition going.”
“Coman can’t be said to train Barcelona because he has received two defeats,” he said. “such things will hit the gym project.”
“We should thank Coman for what he is doing,” the Barcelona presidential candidate went on to say, “he came to a team without money or a sports project, without a club president to make decisions and even without new deals.”
